Women Investing in Science and Health Program
In an effort to further their mission and encourage young women to enter the fields of science and research, and further opportunities for women in science, Women Investing in Science and Health, created the WISH Research Intern Award to benefit a female student to participate in the eight-week Banner-ASU Neuroscience Scholar Program Tracks 2-4 only. The award provides the financial resources needed to support a student who might not otherwise be able to participate in the program. The award amount is up to $2,500.
WISH is a distinguished network of women dedicated to health issues affecting women and their families, including Alzheimer’s disease and caregiving. Working in partnership with Banner Health, the group aspires to be the premier organization of women leaders in Arizona focused on providing education and resources to promote women’s health.
Award applicant criteria
- Must be a female student.
- Preference given to applicants from outside the Phoenix metro area.
- Demonstration of financial need is required.
- Intention to pursue a career in the medical or research field.
Award committee
The number of awards and amount (up to $2,500) is up to the discretion of the committee

Shutz-Christopher Memorial Award
In an effort to encourage students from the Greater Kansas City area to enter the fields of science and Alzheimer’s research, the Shutz-Christopher Memorial Award was created to benefit students from the Greater Kansas City area to participate in the Banner-ASU Neuroscience Scholars Program, located in the Greater Phoenix area. This award is only available to students applying for Tracks 2-5. The award provides the financial resources needed to support students who might not otherwise be able to participate in the program. Award amount is up to $2,500.
Award applicant criteria
- Must be from the Greater Kansas City area.
- Going into medical/research field.
